Just back from....

Sousse, which is in Tunisia.

10 long days in the sun !biggrin

Was a very nice hotel we booked, clean and very tidy grounds throughout.
Me and the kids outside the front of the hotel..

Good bars and restuarants throughout the complex.

There was three hotels in a little u shape and you could go into any of the three of these for bars or restaurants etc.

Was a nice little beach as well at the back of the hotel where i spent most of the time playing with my kids on a lilo, so thought it was time to relax and let them do a bit of work ....

The wife and kids done some paragliding at the beach and said it was good fun, i didnt want to risk jarring my back so just chilled in the sun !biggrin

We booked a tour to the Sahara desert to ride camels and a blast in some 4x4's over the sand dunes (which didnt help my back at all)
Left the first morning at 6.30am got on the coach and headed off for some local sites along the whole of Tunisia. Ended up at the edge of the Sahara at around 6pm for the camel rides, so luckily it had cooled down by then (still around 28 degs Celcius). Stayed in a lovely 4 star hotel overnight but up again at 4am for brekky and left there at 4.45am to head off into the desert again in Toyota Land Cruisers which was great fun, and visited the site where they shot one of the star wars films (or parts of it)...

Then went on to see an oasis and a few other sites before heading back to our hotel.

All in was a round trip of about 850 miles and 2 days.... not sure i would do it again though !!

Everywhere we went throughout Tunisia just seemed to be a bit war torn, houses half built and rubbish just dumped all over the place.

Oh and there is no such thing as an MOT over there....if the wheels go round then you can drive it, any side of the road and as fast as you like :o
Traffic lights and signals mean absolutely nothing to these people!!!

But all in all a much deserved holiday :beersmilie:

The only stressful bit was the journey back to Enfidha airport.

The flight was at 11.50pm and they didnt pick us up from the hotel until 9.05pm.
Was around 55min coach journey to the airport but they only had 2 checkin desks open, by the time we got through passport control etc we had to run to get straight on the plane.

Could have done with being picked up an hour earlier, but home now so dont care :)

Eventually landed back at Stanstead at 3.00am this morning.

Time we then got our bags and drove home it was around 5am.

Had about 3 hours sleep then up again at 8am :o

gonna need another holiday after this
